Assisters

Navigators and Certified Application Counselors are critical to leading the Get Covered New Jersey Assister community. Certified Application Counselor Designated Organizations (CDOs) oversee Certified Application Counselors (CACs) who are trained to provide free, unbiased help to consumers seeking health insurance coverage options through the Marketplace. Navigators are grantees who are trained and certified by Get Covered New Jersey. CDOs must be approved by GetCoveredNJ prior to individual CACs obtaining Exchange certification.

Certified Application Counselor Designated Organizations (CDOs)

CDOs are critical to leading the Get Covered New Jersey Assister community. CDOs oversee Certified Application Counselors (CACs) who are trained to provide free, unbiased help to consumers seeking health insurance coverage options through the Marketplace. CDOs must be approved by GetCoveredNJ prior to individual CACs obtaining Exchange appointment and certification.

Get Covered New Jersey (GetCoveredNJ) recognizes the value CDOs bring to consumers and the Marketplace, and invites them to be partners in outreach, education, and enrollment in the New Jersey state-based exchange.

CDOs must be approved by GetCoveredNJ prior to individual CACs obtaining Exchange certification.

  1. All organizations that want to be certified as CAC Organizations must fill out the form below in order to assist consumers on the GetCoveredNJ platform.
  1. Organizations will be approved by GetCoveredNJ and the organizations will receive notice from GetCoveredNJ regarding training information.
  1. CDOs must organize training of CACs and the process of reporting CACs to GetCoveredNJ and complete the steps necessary to register CACs in the enrollment platform.

All CDOs and CACs must complete training prior to assisting consumers. CACs must connect with a CDO to provide enrollment support.

Note: Grantees of the New Jersey Navigator Program and their identified staff, volunteers, and partners will be automatically registered for certification training. This form is for all other Non-Navigator Assisters to express interest in partnering with GetCoveredNJ and begin the certification process.
